The carbon fiber itself is made up of flake graphite microcrystals stacked irregularly, giving it the softness and workability of textile fibers. However, this structure also makes the mechanical ability of carbon fiber decline, poor toughness, bending, part of the fiber will fracture, resulting in resistance, local temperature is too high or directly can not work and other phenomena.
The main way graphene is electrically heated is by making a paste and spreading it on a substrate to form a planar conductive layer. In order to keep the resistance relatively stable, the base will generally choose a harder material, which leads to the overall texture of hard, thick, easy to break when bending.
Carbon nanotubes have a very large aspect ratio, which enables them to self-assemble into thin films with network structure without any substrate support. The self-supported structure enables carbon nanotubes thin films to have very good flexibility, good mechanical strength, and can be bent arbitrarily to maintain stable structure and electrical properties. In the later stage, only the voltage is added to both ends of the film, encapsulated with a soft cloth, and the electricity can be heated.
